Assist. Prof. Dr. Perihan ADUN

Perihan Aysal Adun was born in Ankara in 1961. After completing her primary and secondary education at Ankara Mimar Kemal Schools, she graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Food Science and Technology in 1982 and graduated from the same department in 1997 with her thesis titled "Investigation of Chlorpyrifos Residue in Tomatoes and Tomato Products by Radiotracer Technique". She received her doctorate.
She worked at the Turkish Atomic Energy Agency (TAEK) between 1984-2009 and at the International Atomic Energy Agency-Seibersdorf Laboratories between 2003-2008 on food irradiation, which is one of the peaceful applications of nuclear energy in agriculture, quality control in foods, and examination of pesticide residues with radioisotope monitoring technique and other analytical techniques. She worked as a researcher, presented her work at various National and International congresses and gave training at home and abroad.
She retired from TAEK in 2009 and between 2009 and 2015, she provided training and consultancy services domestically and abroad on method validation, determination of measurement uncertainty and laboratory accreditation in pesticide residue analysis.
She started working as a part-time lecturer at Near East University in 2015 and as a full-time lecturer in 2016, and received the title of assistant professor in February 2018. She currently serves as the Head of Near East University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Food Engineering.
She has many articles in national and international indexed journals; Also  has made presentations at congresses and symposiums. Assoc. Dr. Aysal Adun's academic interests include food analysis, food quality and safety, laboratory accreditation, sustainable agriculture and food systems. She is married and has a child.
