Dr. Hüseyin ÇELİK

ATTORNEY OF ZOOTECHNIC DEPARTMENT

Dr. Hüseyin Çelik is an academic specializing in agricultural and forest economics, with a research focus on consumer behavior, agriculture, and forestry. After completing his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at Anadolu University, he pursued dual master's degrees in Economics and Agricultural Economics at Çukurova University. He then earned his PhD in Agricultural Economics at Çukurova University, where he examined consumer approaches toward organic and functional foods.

Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Çelik conducted postdoctoral research at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Department of Forest Economics, focusing on public attitudes toward the paper and pulp industry and willingness to pay for wood-based products.

Dr. Çelik is currently affiliated with the Department of Animal Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, Near East University. He also teaches Agricultural and Livestock Economics and Management at both the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Additionally, he conducts research on sustainable consumption and production within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12. His research interests include agricultural and food economics, natural resource management, and consumer preferences, utilizing advanced methodologies such as econometric modeling, Discrete Choice Experiments (DCE), and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).
