“Forum on Toxin Use: Wildlife and Rural Life Conservation in Cyprus,” a significant event focused on the conservation of wildlife and rural life in Cyprus, was held on December 12, 2025, at the Ledra Palace Hotel.
Funded by the European Union and supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the forum was implemented in collaboration with OSASG-Cyprus and organized by the Environmental Technical Committee. The event, which also included contributions from organizations such as Kuşkor and Birdlife Cyprus, saw the participation of the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Özge Özden, and the Vice Dean, Prof. Dr. Salih Gücel.
Within the framework of the forum, the environmental impacts of toxin use in rural areas, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable solutions were discussed by expert speakers. Presentations evaluated the negative effects of toxin use in open spaces on ecosystems and potential practices for wildlife conservation.
