The Near East University Faculty of Agriculture participated in the AKIS (Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems) Capacity Building Training Programme organised within the scope of the eunite:AgriBusiness Project, funded by the European Union, which was held at the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry between 18–20 August 2026.

During the training programme, sessions focused on the dissemination of agricultural innovation, developing trust-based collaborations among stakeholders, effective communication, establishing sustainable operational groups, and strengthening the AKIS approach.

On the final day of the programme, participants visited field sites in Lefke, where successful practices were examined on-site. Participants also had the opportunity to share their experiences and evaluate the training process. The event provided valuable contributions to promoting knowledge exchange, supporting innovative practices, and strengthening cooperation among institutions within the agricultural sector.

The Near East University Faculty of Agriculture continues to actively participate in international initiatives that aim to strengthen research, education, and sectoral collaborations, contributing to sustainable agriculture, knowledge sharing, and the dissemination of innovative practices.

The event was organised within the framework of the eunite:AgriBusiness Project, funded by the European Union and implemented in collaboration with GIZ International Services and Sustainable Food Systems Ireland. The project aims to strengthen cooperation among farmers, researchers, advisors, and other stakeholders through the AKIS approach.
