Prof. Dr. Nevzat Artık from Ankara University-Turkey-, Department of Food Engineering, 7 June touched upon issues such as Food Supply Security and the Impact of Climate Change on Food Security due to World Food Security.
Climate change poses various challenges for food security, and among these challenges; Extreme Weather Events, Pest and Disease Pressure, Water Scarcity are among the factors. In addition, the effects of food supply security affected by climate change extend to various security dimensions. Prof. Dr. Nevzat Artık, who mentioned the availability of various strategies to address these challenges, stated that by increasing the implementation of agroecological practices that increase resilience to climate change with Sustainable Agriculture Practices, by investing in more research and developing climate-resistant crop varieties and innovative agricultural technologies to this extent, by creating sound policies that integrate climate adaptation with food security initiatives, and most importantly, by increasing cooperation among countries to share resources, knowledge and technology to address food security challenges.
