Faculty of Agriculture, faculty members and students participated in the workshop titled ‘Urban Forest Life Workshop Multidisciplinary Spatial Planning Education’.

The workshop, which was organized in collaboration with Ufuk Planning, DAÜ KENT-AG, KTMMOB Urban Planners Chamber, Architects Chamber and Kyrenia Municipality, was completed on February 18-22. On the fourth day of the event, which was aimed to be an academic meeting for a green and planned Kyrenia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Buket Asilsoy made a presentation on ‘Urban Landscape Planning and Design’. In addition, three students from the Landscape Architecture Department participated in the workshops that continued throughout the workshop.

The workshop, in which the 20 July Stadium area within the borders of the Girne Municipality was determined as the pilot area, included academic and scientific studies to ensure that the city meets with green areas within the urban density. A total of 16 students and many instructors, 8 students selected from the Urban and Regional Planning and Forestry Engineering departments of four different universities in Turkey and 8 students selected from TRNC universities, participated in the program. The aim of the trainings, which were carried out with an interdisciplinary approach, was to support theoretical knowledge with field applications.
