Faculty of Agriculture Department of Landscape Architecture was represented at the IV. International Rural Areas and Ecology Congress within the Framework of Sustainable Development (RUDESU2023).

The congress was held at The Olive Tree Hotel (Kyrenia-TRNC) on 05-06 October, under the management of IKSAD Institute (Economic Development and Social Research Institute). At the congress, qualified scientists from home and abroad came together and had the opportunity to share their knowledge online and face to face.

The congress, which was held for the fourth time, aimed to create a common language and ensure versatile information sharing by bringing together all disciplines under the umbrella of Natural Sciences, as well as Social and Human Sciences and Architectural Sciences.

Assoc. Dr. Buket Asilsoy attended the congress face to face and presented a paper titled ‘Exploring Perception of Residents Regarding the Open Green Spaces in Güzelyurt, Cyprus ‘, which is a joint scientific study with Dr. Sinem Yıldırım and Prof. Dr. Özge Özden. In this study, the importance of urban open green areas for sustainable cities was emphasized and the perception of urban residents and public space usage preferences were investigated, specifically in Güzelyurt.
